You might have heard of Burj Khalifa as the world’s tallest building, and it is no wonder that it is associated with Dubai, which is already home to many top marvels in the world. During your Dubai holidays, you can explore the modern architecture and indulge in luxurious experiences. Your visit to Dubai is surely incomplete if you haven’t paid a visit to Burj Khalifa that fascinates the visitors with 163 unique floors, a height of 828 meters, and is popular as the tallest manmade structure in the world since its completion in January 2010.
In this post, I am going to share with you my personal experience as I got to explore this building during my stay in Dubai. Keep reading to know how it felt like from the moment I arrived to the top of the building from where I captured irresistible views.
An Overview of Burj Khalifa
Before I get straight to the point, the Burj Khalifa is known for its ideal location next to the Dubai Mall in Downtown Dubai. Further, it is easily accessible and one can reach here via a taxi, car, or even via Dubia Metro. The Dubai Mall station is the nearest one from where one can take a 10 minutes walk through the air-conditioned tunnel to reach the mall. When I reached there, I strictly followed what the signboards were indicating, and that took me to the main entrance from where I went up to the observation decks.
Buying Tickets
There are two options for you in this regard. Either you can book the ticket online through the official website or simply book it through a verified ticket provider. You can even buy the tickets from the entrance on spot. To skip the long queues, I booked mine online and that actually saved me from hassle. Further, I could manage to grab good rates. For your information, there are two types of tickets offered here, namely At the Top that takes you to level 124-125, and At the Top SKY, that takes you to level 148 and offers a more premium experience with fewer crowds. I booked the affordable one for levels 124 and 125 and for me it was one of the best experiences of my life.
The Elevator Ride
After passing through the security check formality and ticket checking, it was my time to step into the world’s fastest elevator installed inside this building that travels at an astonishing speed of 10 meters per second and the entire ride was super-smooth for me. It took hardly a minute to reach straight to level 124. The mini light show inside the elevator during the ride kept me hooked and already I started feeling like I am heading towards something really special on my way.
The View from the Top
Visiting Burj Khalifa is always a great idea if you want to see the world from a new angle. When I finally reached the desired level 124’s observation deck, the panoramic views of the entire city simply stole my heart. From that height, everything seemed too tiny and the cars and buildings- everything was looking like a miniature art. There were different telescopes placed at different points that allowed the visitors to take perfect views of different parts of the city. I could actually even spot the Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, and even the Desert Safari from the distance
When I reached level 125, I found it more spacious with interactive screens installed at numerous places from where I could get to learn about the building and the history of Dubai. I could actually get enough insights to compare the old Dubai with the current one, and it was a whole new and educational experience for me and my fellows.
Best Time to Visit
If you are one among those thinking of “what is the best time to visit Burj Khalifa?”, then the answer in my opinion is the SUNSET TIME. I actually timed my visit in a manner to enjoy daylight, sunset and night all in a single go. The view of the sun going slowly down was like the one I used to see in different movies. The sky first turned orange and pink and when the sun was completely set, the city looked even more beautiful in the night with lights of buildings and roads gleaming like stars.
Memories to Take Home
Before I decided to go back, it was time to shop some random stuff for my family to bring back home. I also bought a small model of Burj Khalifa to keep as a decoration piece, and a fridge magnet as well. Also, I got my picture clicked by professional photographers here, which were later sent to me via email. I took lots of pictures on my own phone through open-air sections and glass windows that made photography quite easy as a whole.
